About Us

Design a Gig is a group of people with a passion for music. Made up of musicians and media professionals, we use our experience and expertise to develop the careers of those with dreams of turning their passion into their job.

We’ve developed an affordable one-stop-shop system to make what can sometimes seem like an unachievable target, within your grasp in just a few clicks. Why over-spend and over-complicate when everything you need to get your music heard can be found in one place?

Tying that alongside our connections with national & local radio stations, as well as press, promoters & venues across the country, we have the tools and the contacts that you need.

We believe it’s important you know who you’re working with, so let us tell you a little bit about the team.

Callum Marks
Managing Director

Callum set up Design a Gig a few years ago, sick of being given the raw end of the deal as a musician he wanted to give control back to the artists. Alongside running Design a Gig, he’s worked in the radio industry since the age of 16 working on brands such as Capital, Heart, Smooth, Absolute and Key 103. His connections in the media industry have given Design a Gig the capability to work with all the right people that you need to speak to in order to get your music heard.

Aidan McCarron
Music Director

Aidan looks after all our live events, managing our group of Event Managers to deliver a number of gigs each month in and around Manchester. Music is his life, having performed both as a solo artist and in bands ever since his school days, it’s fair to say he knows his way around the local music scene!

Rob Smith
Podcast Presenter/Producer

Working within music runs through Rob's blood. The host of Design a Gig Podcast every week; speaking to new artists and giving you the new sounds from bands around the UK with focus on the home of music, Manchester! Delving into radio after studying it at University, a local radio station took him under their wing and he thrived gaining industry contacts and extensive presenting experience. Radio has given him the knowledge of what real musicians sound like!

Joelle Edwards
Social Media & Networking Manager

Joelle is an independent singer-songwriter-producer and through self-managing her own project Almost Autumn, fell into social media management and artistic development through digital media during her time as university. Following her graduation from the well renowned The Liverpool Institute of Performing Arts, Joelle joined Design A Gig as our Social Media and Network Manager, to offer forward-thinking, top-quality social media solutions and content for our artists.
